i put gas inside the carb. of my lawn mower and it runs, but if i pull the cord it will not start any tips ?

when i pull the cord nothing happens not even a put put sound ? its a craftman lawn mower.

Water in gas tank or just bad gas. If it starts at all, it is not the sparkplug. If has one check primer bulb for hole.
