ensure fuel is sufficient and turned on, put throttle to start, engage choke to full, turn ignition on, pull starter cord. when it starts reduce choke slowly and put more throttle into it.

Depending on the motor used, it could be a different sequence. But generally, engage the choke, make sure you’ve got your ignition on, and yank the start cord extremely fast & hard. That should be basically it, give or take the ignition (some just require engaging the choke and pulling the cord).
