How do you get the pull start cord out of a lawn mower if it snaps and recoils inside?

By admin | October 11, 2009

While I was mowing the lawn yesterday, my lawn mower stopped. When I tried to pull start it (its powered by gas), the pull cord snapped off the handle and recoiled into the engine. I just want to know how to get it out.

The assembly can be removed by taking out the top 4 screws. You will have to recoil the spring which take 3 hands. But, can be done with a lotta patience.
